Another great turn out

8 Mar

Thanks to everyone who came along on Saturday to help us protest outside Rosehill, it was great to see so many people about and it’s a great boost to our campaign to hear how much you all want to keep the library.

Ben Gummer MP, came along to speak to us and offer his support – I stupidly forgot to ask him to sign the petition, so will be contacting him in the next couple of days to ask him to do so.

The next part of our campaign will focus on looking more at the facts and figures of Rosehill and the other libraries faced with closure or divestment – which, don’t forget is ALL the public libraries in Suffolk. We’re also organising another protest, keep Saturday 2nd April free if you’d like to join us. We’re at the very early stages of planning and so as soon as we have plans in place I’ll update the blog.

The best part about Saturday for me were the banners – we have some very talented young artists in the Rosehill area! Also, see Monday’s Evening Star for a story on our event
